The KJBF is a trusted event that prides itself on exemplary and interesting musicianship running now for over 37 years. Streets, cafes, clubs, pubs, and pop-up stages all over the town come alive for the weekend, bustling with a passionate, fun-filled, music-loving crowd. 2025 is set to be more fun than ever as we work on taking over the street plus more of 2024's very successful hubs popping up around town making it easier than ever to enjoy the delicious tunes we are fortunate enough to showcase in our beautiful seaside town. With our horizons continuing to broaden, from dirty striped down blues to exceptional mind-blowing jazz and any interpretations and evolutions of these genres, a stage is waiting. Jazz is limitless expression, blues is the soul & origin of most music we hear today, put these together & your options are endless.

We take pride in supporting our Festival musicians but keep in mind when you quote your fee, that we a volunteer-run Festival, presenting a largely free to attend, unique music event. Budget is tight but applause & opportunity is abundant. We would love you to join us.

We worked tirelessly to get the best price for our performing artists. We are a grassroots festival and run on a very lean budget so the unfortunate reality is high fees will price artists out of being finically viable to perform.
Fees quoted are inclusive of all costs such as GST and travel.
For successful applicants, we offer the opportunity to perform several times during the festival and sell merch over the weekend (zero commission).
